Artist bio
Rose Levit is a Seattle-based oil painter and illustrator whose work is inspired by fairy tales, surrealism, and the nature of the Pacific Northwest. She aims to portray the world through a haze of magic and wonder. Originally an aerial circus performer, she has been transitioning into the world of fine art for the last several years, but her work is still deeply informed by her time flying through the air. She currently attends the Kang-O’Higgens Atelier at Gage Academy of Art. You can find her work in galleries throughout Seattle, such as Axis Gallery and Domicile Design, as well as at regional craft fairs.

Much of Rose's work deals with themes of neurodivergence, solitude, and finding refuge in things typically considered dark or unsettling. Drawing on her own experience with neurodivergence, she reimagines the world much as it would appear in a dream. When one is already mad, the trappings of madness instead become sources of comfort. Joy and terror become intertwined. Familiar objects grow fangs as one sleeps peacefully among monsters. Fairy tales fall from their rosy pedestals and begin to fray at the edges. Every bite of sweetness contains a drop of poison.
With a passion for authentic self-expression and a commitment to delivering high-quality artwork, Rose offers a wide range of artistic services, including commissioned pieces, art prints, and original paintings.
